Gastro Friday Giveaway & Review: Fudgeluscious!!!

Gastro Friday Giveaway & Review: Fudgeluscious!!!
Gourmet fudge through the mail? Why the hell not?!

Happy Gastro Friday, everyone! I am really excited this week, because I had the pleasure of reviewing the company Fudgeluscious, and they were kind enough to sponsor a giveaway! Their kind owner, Lina (who also has a kick-ass name), sent me 6 squares of the deliciousness to try. Full disclosure: I did not pay for these–but if you know my food review policy, you know this is not an issue. Leena only rocks out REAL reviews. If you want to gift a loved one this season with a make your own fudge-stuffed oreo kit, check out the review and details after the jump. The following flavors were sent to me: orange chocolate, raspberry chocolate, plain fudge, chocolate peanut butter, and two slabs of chocolate coconut (because I am a coconut freak). Here’s the breakdown of the goods and the notsogoods: The “I could do withouts” *The orange chocolate. It has a beautiful design on it, but the flavors were a bit too much for me. Fair disclosure: my dentist uses an orange dreamsicle flouride treatment on me, and I am fairly certain I ate a bunch of those Flinstone orange sherbet pops and got sick at a young age. So dreamsicle? Not my thing. NOTE**This is entirely a personal preference. If you dig Dreamsicle and chocolate together, this may work for you.

The Orange Dreamsicle n Chocolate fudge. Didn’t work for me, but I hate creamsicles. You may dig this.

The “I Need These!” The plain: very basic, but a clean flavor. VERY chocolately, but more of a milk chocolate than dark chocolate flavor.

The chocolate raspberry: intense raspberry flavor, but not overwhelming. Good in small doses. Also really cool colors.

The chocolate peanut butter: decent ratio of peanut butter to chocolate, but sort of wish the flavors were swirls like the chocolate raspberry so there would be more peanut butter flavor throughout. Still, a good fudge, and a classic flavor combo.

And now my favorite…the chocolate coconut. Obviously, I’m biased because I love coconut and chocolate together. But this was a really good construction, a sandwich, if you will, of actual coconut with chocolate fudge, which imparts a SUPER coconutty flavor on the entire bar. Note–this bar should be wrapped up tightly if packed with other flavors, because the coconut flavor seems to clings to surrounding fudge in the box. I ate one entire piece before I even did a photo shoot. Then proceeded to spend the next day in a sugar coma on the couch. Yeah. I’m still learning portion sizing! When it comes to fudge, a little goes a long way.

All in all, if you like fudge, this is a place worth checking out. They have a huge range of flavors, and for the most part, all were really delicious. Check them out here:
