First off, let me just say sorrysorrysorrysorry for being a shitty blogger and not posting for while. I blame it all on a 3,000 word paper on the myth of national cuisine that whooped my tan ass to Chicago and back. But I?m back?large and in charge! I happen to have a kick ass partner. He understands that after a long day at work, I barely have time to do my homework, write essays, and write my blog, much less make dinner. But I do. Because I also kick ass. But he kicks ass too, and has been making dinner officially one night a week in an attempt to learn how to cook foods that are healthy for me and to give me a night or two off a week. He also is the best damn mise en place-r I have even met (that?s French for he cuts my veggies so I don?t have to!). So for his first official meal (he has already mastered the art of making breakfast and quesadillas, mind you), he made snags on the dag (Aussie slang for grilled sausages on white bread) but since most snags hurt me with all their deliciously porky goodness, he tried out two chicken sausages: spinach, chicken and pine nut in one, and chicken, almond and mango in the other. Both tasted great?still hurt my stomach still, but I guess I am destined to suffer for my art. Life without sausage is not one I want to be a part of.

The next week, he found a recipe all on his own and rocked it the only way he knew how: prawn crostinis with a honey cayenne tomato sauce. These were so good; I had to check the trash to make sure he didn?t buy them from somewhere else! The sauce worked great with the sweet prawns, a nice sweet and spicy kick to it.

And here is the hard sous chef at work, deveining shrimp like a pro and looking hot in the mean time.

Thanks Sweetie! I love you more than bacon☺ ~LTG
