Everyone, meet Bec. Bec is a keen lady. Bec went to camp in the States with my food twin, Bobby, so Bobby put us in touch with her when he found out we were moving to Oz. We have officially elected Bec as our Australian ambassador, that is to say, she rocks. One reason she rocks: she gets really excited over little things like me. Like root beer! Seriously?I told Adam I found root beer (we?d been searching FOREVER for it) and he was like, oh, cool. I told Bec and she screamed. Much better. I appreciate a nice vocal response to food or drink! And if you look closely at the picture below, you can see she practically bought out the stock at the little Asian store I found them at! Yay, root beer!

We ate at T Chow, a Chinese restaurant near the Central Market, one of a set of three restaurants within a few blocks of each other (Ky Chow and Ying Chow). This is handy because it means the menus are fairly similar, and if one is packed, you don?t have to walk far to find the others (and when we went, all three were packed! Totally a good sign of a kickass restaurant.). Tiny table + crap ton of food = awesomeness.

We ordered a ton and it all came nearly at once. But I?m proud to say we put some hurting on that there food!

We started with corn and chicken soup, a shallot pancake, and steamed dumplings with a cherry oil dip. Then came fruity bbq ribs, salt and pepper prawns, and spicy bean paste chicken. Oh yeah, and an esky full of rice. Esky is Aussie slang for cooler. Yup, we ate that much rice.

This picture shows how much food was on the little table?notice where Adam is holding his beer. We all suffer for our food.

Thanks for a great night, Bec! ~LTG
