Hello, dear readers! So much is happening in Leenaland right now, but I wanted to take a moment and get you up to speed. So much was/is/will be happening over the past (and next) two months, I’ve been trying my best to document it all. And you know, keep up with my regular bacon-eating regiments. Two months ago, my stomach problems landed me in the hospital. It sucked. I mean, it helped me shed those last few pesky pounds that Jillain Michaels’ 30 Day Shred couldn’t get off, so that was a plus. But generally? It sucked. I had to write a 5000 word essay for publication during this time, which was also extra super awesome.
A few weeks later, my husband and I took a trip to San Francisco. I went to a food blog conference, he explored job opportunities, and we looked for apartments. Why? CUZ WE’RE MOVING THERE! Which is awesome. But not so awesome was the wicked bad flu I got the day after the conference, most likely from pushing myself too hard on the trip.
The flu lasted a solid two weeks. I still had to wrap up my life in Chicago, so I had to do it all snotty-nosed and fevery. It reminded me of what my life was life last winter in Chicago, constantly getting colds and feeling miserable. I worked on yet another 5000 word essay for publication, caught up with all my old friends, had a good friend visit from out of town, gave her a full out tour of the city food-style, and then caught her cold. For a solid week.
Now, as I type this, I am in the midst of moving out of my Chicago apartment and preparing to embark on a little 2,000 mile road trip to my new home in San Francisco. The boxes are packed, my husband has a new job (and I’m applying!), our old, dying car has been replaced with a slightly loved, much newer car that blows my mind so much (seriously, power windows? LOVE YOU!) that we keep looking outside at it to make it didn’t just disappear into thin air. I’ve been spending my days soaking up the familiar sights and sounds, spending time with good friends, and hitting up my favorite local coffee shop to catch up on the 31 blog posts I have missed over the past two months. So sit back, relax, and enjoy some much needed Leena-reading. By the time you’re caught up with all my delicious eating adventures, I will hopefully be settled and cooking up a storm in my new home. Wish me luck–San Francisco, here I come!! ~LTG!
