If this doesn’t get you hungry, I don’t like you.

Two food lovers on the loose—lookout, Berkeley Bowl!!

On day two in San Francisco, we went apartment and sight seeing around the East Bay. One of our first food-related stops was the Berkeley Bowl, a giant grocery store with tons of selection, ethnic foods and other yumminess. Lucky for me, I had my partner in food crime Cari to stake out the joint. (By the way, you can check out Cari’s blog and her take on our SF food trip here.) The Berkeley Bowl is like your basic grocery store, only with 100 times the options, a killer pasta bar, olive bar, gourmet deli and bakery. Their produce section was massive, and even had a well-stocked specialty fruit section.

There was fruit as far as the eye could see in Berkeley Bowl.

A little stinky durian, anyone?

I was so tickled by this dried pasta station. So fun, and what a great idea.

Their olive/condiment bar was also most impressive. It inspired us to grab a little snack!

The LARGE dried goods section, more extensive than my local Whole Foods!

Throughout the day, we got the chance to wander through the East Bay, past the Golden Gate bridge, and just explored the different neighborhoods.

Gorgeous view of the ocean from a Berkeley Hill backyard I am way too poor to afford anytime in the next decade. One day, my friends. One day.

Weird looking plant we found. I call it the bubble plant. Or sometimes, Peter.

Then I tried to eat said weird-looking bubble Peter plant. This was not a successful attempt.3 bugs and my tongue were harmed in the making of this photo.

A shot of the Golden Gate bridge on a VERY windy day.

For dinner, we hit up the delicious new restaurant Fish & Farm, but you’ll have to wait until tomorrow to read about it. But seriously? We ate what was named to be the best burger in ALL of San Francisco. So you know you want to read it. And maybe lick the screen a little bit. But don’t worry. It will be our little secret Leena Eats: SF, day two, part one Berkeley Bowl and SF sights ~LTG! ************************************************ Did you read my other San Fran post?
