The Pop Up General Store in the East Bay
Taken straight from their website, “Founded by Christopher Lee and Samin Nosrat, Pop-Up General Store is a group of professional cooks {nearly all of us current or former Chez Panisse cooks} making the foods we love to eat. We Pop-Up every two or three weeks so that you can get your hands on some.”
Located in Oakland at Grace Street Catering, the Pop Up General Store doesn’t happen very often, and when it does, you are notified by email. The space is small, but the passion is evident.

This is a great concept–chefs who want to make artisan food on their time off for others to enjoy…think of it as underground farmers marketing. I can’t wait to get my order in and actually try the food this time!
