Applefest 2009: I came, I saw, I…did not eat any apples. The sad news: only two apple vendors at Applefest. Good news: Plenty of other stuff, like German food and paczkis and overly friendly giant animals. Holla. There was definitely good apple-y things at Applefest. Like…apples.
And more apples.
A variety of other, fall-esque festival goodies, like German food vendors (did I mention I live in a German-loving hood?), homemade jam, pumpkins, honey…
This is a local German sausage vendor that I have stumbled upon before, and let me tell you, the man makes a mean hot dog and baurwurst. I’m just saying, if you happen across his product, it’s delicious. Get it.
There was definitely some bad at the Applefest, like the SUPER friendly panda bear with wandering hands.
And when we got hungry, guess what we put some hurting on? No, not a slice of massive apple pie from the slightly angry looking chef at The Chopping Block, but rather some delicious paczkis, or Polish jelly doughnuts.
We ended the day with some free massages from the local chiropractic clinic. Not a bad day in Lincoln Square if you ask me. ~LTG!
