Beer Tasting

Beer Tasting

One of our recent assignments was to write three different restaurant reviews, and my friend Joanne chose to cover the Belgian Beer Caf? in Adelaide. Sure, they have food, but what fun is that? Thus, we sampled the finest and strangest beers they had available. Yup. School is hard work.

Beer Tasting

Cassis beer?interesting, but I thought it had a cherry cough syrup sort of after taste.

Beer Tasting

Apple Beer?not quite cider, not quite beer. I liked it simply for the fact that I am not a huge beer fan and it was sweet, but the aftertaste was similar to a green apple jolly rancher or lollipop. Not quite sure if I liked it or not.

Beer Tasting

Chocolate beer. Not too bad?a bit sweet, but not overpowering, and you actually tasted the chocolate. Look how hard at work the group is. I think we deserve another beer!

It does not suck to be you. At all. What a fun assignment!

A chocolate Belgian beer really is very odd. Chocolate porter is one thing, but an actual chocolate lager-looking thing is definitely unusual. The thing with Belgians is that they frequently have a crap ton of alcohol, way more than “normal” beer. I always forget that… and then remember when I feel woozy after only two beers.

Hey Anna. This was my first venture into the world of chocolate Belgian beer, and while it was okay (and more alcoholic!), I’m a cider girl through and through. Yay Woodchuck!
