Leena Travels:SF Day Three Urban Hike with Becks n Posh!

The bright-eyed and bushy-tailed food bloggers on the hike: Nikki, myself, Alice, Sam and Alana.

On day three of my San Fran trip, I was planning on attending the BlogHerFood conference. Then around 11pm the night before, I read a tweet from one of my favorite food bloggers, Sam from Becks and Posh, about an pre-conference urban hike through the city at 6 a.m.

Being the hardcore lady I am (READ: CRAZY!!!) and eager to meet Sam and other food bloggers, I decided to participate (and my husband even joined along). I can honestly say it was one of the most kick-ass things I have ever done on a trip. I had some great conversations with fellow food bloggers and writers and got an up close and personal view of the city I would soon be calling home at sunrise. To see the exact route we walked, check out this post by Sam.

In addition to Sam, I was lucky enough to meet Nikki from Art and Lemons, Alice from Alice Q. Foodie, and Alana from Kitchen Parade. These ladies rock. So lucky to hike with them!

But on to the photos...

Follow up:

We started off in Chinatown...

Chinatown in SF pre-sunrise. Such a diverse neighborhood and meeting of cultures!

Another great shot of SF Chinatown.

Our first peek at the Golden Gate bridge!

More Chinatown...

Hey! What do you know? MORE Chinatown. Didn't see that one coming.

Love the juxtaposition of Old World meets New World in this shot.

Second shot of the Golden Gate bridge, a bit closer to sunrise this time.

We did a quick jaunt through North Beach...

As we headed through North Beach, we got a glimpse of the fog slowly uncovering Alcatrez.

...and landed at the top of Lombard right as the sun was rising, that crazy windy street you always see in movies and shows about SF.

Me at the top of Lombard.

Upward shot of Lombard.

Look! I ran up Lombard! OR maybe I just pretended....shhhhhhhhhhhh!

Then we headed towards Telegraph Hill and the Coit Tower from some great SF city views...

The husband and I on an early morning urban hike in SF!

The group walking down a STEEP hill.

What a view.

Thanks again to Sam and all the ladies that helped make my first urban hike in SF a great one!!!

You were at the conference? I'm so bummed I didn't know. I would have loved to have met. Well, it looks like you're gonna have to come to San Diego then.
