About the blog

Welcome to Leena Eats: food, travel and motherhood from scratch. This blog was originally created as a way to document Leena’s move from Chicago to Australia (where she earned her masters in food writing). After graduation, Leena and her blog moved back to Chicago for a tasty arctic year. These days, you can find her writing about food and teaching cooking classes in warmer San Francisco Bay Area. Her spare time is filled with potty training and taking down karaoke halls with her rendition of Busta Rhymes “Look At Me Now”.

Things on the blog that has stayed the same over the years:
*Leena’s dirty-as-a-sailor mouth. Not for kids, unless the kids are REALLY cool (like won’t tell parents or use in appropriate places and blame on Leena cool).
*Her love of food in all forms: cooking, eating, writing, history, general discussion!

Things on the blog that has changed over the years:
*Leena got knocked up and birthed a mini-me. The food force is strong is this one. And expect more posts on motherhood in general.
*Leena was diagnosed with two different chronic stomach illnesses, cyclic vomiting syndrome and ibs, hence forth to be know as “my crappy cousins”. When her crappy cousins visit, all forms of food become Leena’s worst enemy. They typically put her out of commission for a bit, but her obsession with food is just too strong, so she always finds her way back to this blog, be it a week or a year.
